500 ELVIS FANS CAN’T BE WRONG
Secondo alcune fonti, è recentemente uscito un cofanetto bootleg da 10 CD per collezionisti in confezione digipack intitolato "500 Elvis Fans Can't Be Wrong Soundboard Boxset" contenente registrazioni in qualità soundboard di alcuni concerti di Elvis dal ’69 al ’76. Nulla comunque che non sia già stato emesso in passato. Il boxset dovrebbe essere in edizione limitata a sole 500 copie e il suo prezzo si aggirerebbe intorno ai 150 dollari… ecco di seguito il contenuto:

l'imminente emissione della "Straight Arrow" si chiamerà "Red Hot In Vegas" (SA 2006-5-02), e presenterà lo show di Las Vegas del 23 Agosto 1972 (Midnight).
Come per le precedenti edizioni di questa etichetta anche questo CD sarà corredato di un libretto di 16 pagine ricco di foto del periodo Agosto/Settembre 1972, memorabilia e note informative e una panoramica sull'anno 1972.
Questa registrazione amatoriale è tratta direttamente dal master e la qualità sarà davvero ottima considerando che si tratta di un'audience recording, molto vicino ad una qualità soundboard
Purtroppo questo show non è registrato interamente e così le tracce mancanti sono state estrapolate da un altro show della stessa stagione: il 13 Agosto 1972 (Dinner).
"For The Good Times" è ottenuta dal mix delle versioni di entrambi gli show.

La Audiophile Records è pronta a distribuire il suo nuovo CD dal titolo "Let It Be Me".
Questo CD conterrà l'inedito e completamente sconosciuto show registrato in qualità amatoriale (tratto direttamente dal nastro originale) del 21 Febbraio 1970 a Las Vegas (Midnight).
Il sound pare sia stato ristorato digitalmente per ottenere la migliore qualità audio che secondo le indiscrezioni dovrebbe essere davvero apprezzabile.
"Kentucky Rain" e "Let It Be Me" sono incomplete ma fortunatamente il CD si completa con alcune bonus tracks tra le quali abbiamo per l'appunto le versioni complete di questi due brani tratti dal concerto del 20 Febbraio (Dinner).
Il CD contiene un libretto di 8 pagine contenente note informative, recensioni della stampa e svariate foto rare scattate da un fan durante svariati show di las Vegas

Ecco i dettagli del nuovo libro con 2 CD "Writing for the King" della FTD in uscita il 1° Dicembre 2006.
Il libro di Ken Sharp include oltre 140 interviste con compositori quali John Fogerty, Paul McCartney, Leiber & Stoller, Pomus & Shuman, Phil Spector, Tommy Durden, Red West, Mark James, Tony Joe White e l'editore Freddy Bienstock.
"Writing for the King" è un affascinante viaggio nella politica, soldi, ispirazioni e favolosi aneddoti riguardanti Elvis e i brani che egli trasformò in classici.
E' incluso un primo CD contenente registrazioni inedite della RCA di Elvis live a Las Vegas (tra 1l 1969 e il 1972) ed un secondo CD con una selezione di brani tratti dagli originali che venivano proposti ad Elvis.

Dai produttori dei mitici CD "American Crown Jewels" e "Finding The Way Home" ecco la nuova serie "The American Way" contenente le sessions non tagliate dei brani registrati agli American Studios di Memphis tra il Gennaio e Febbraio 1969.
Queste sessions erano già disponibili in differenti prodotti come il favoloso box di 6 CD 'American Sound Sessions' della VB Records.
In questo caso la serie sarà composta da 5 singoli volumi, ciascuno accompagnato da un libretto illustrato di 16 pagine contenente rare foto, memorabilia e informazioni sul periodo trattato.

Per questo mese è prevista l’emissione di due fedeli riproduzioni degli acetati My Happiness / That’s When Your Heartaches Begin” e “It Wouldn’t Be The Same Without You / I’ll Never Stand In Your Way” rispettivamente del ’53 e ’54. Queste tracce furono registrate da Elvis alla Sun, precedentemente alla sua prima incisione professionale. Queste riproduzioni saranno limitate a solo 300 esemplari.

In Olanda è recentemente uscito un CD intitolato "Elvis What Happened". Questo ‘picture disc’ contenente 17 tracce si presenta in confezione cartonata e secondo la descrizione fornita su Ebay dovrebbe contenere anche ‘un tributo musicale da parte di Vester Presley a tutti i fans di Elvis’.
Il CD si focalizza sulle varie teorie di complotto sulla morte che ancora oggi circolano nel mondo Elvis. Il CD parte da uno special del 1979 secondo il quale Elvis sarebbe stato ucciso da un overdose di farmaci. La Commissione Medica sarebbe a conoscenza di prove che rivelerebbero una quantità impressionante di ricette compilate dal dottor Nichopoulos tra il 1975 e il 1977. Incluse nel CD ci sono varie interviste con Ginger Alden(l’ultima ragazza di Elvis), George Nichopoulos, John O' Grady (il detective privato di Elvis e Vernon), David e Rick Stanley (i fratellastri di Elvis), Knox Phillips (figlio di Sam Phillips), J.D. Sumner, Marty Lacker, Sonny West, Carl Perkins, Charlie Rich, Chuck Berry, Chet Atkins e altri ancora…

IL RITORNO DI VOICE
Dopo 32 anni di silenzio artistico il gruppo vocale Voice (composto da Sherrill Nielsen, Donnie Sumner e Tim Baty) che si esibì a varie riprese con Elvis nel corso degli anni ’70, ha realizzato due CD contenenti vari pezzi gospel e canzoni natalizie preferite da Elvis. L’ultimo album inciso dal trio e intitolato ‘Distilled Gospel’ del 1974, è ora un vero e proprio oggetto da collezionismo. HOLDING DOWN THE FORT
La prossima uscita dell’etichetta Madison, intitolata "Holding Down The Fort", conterrà il concerto del 3 giugno 1976 a Forth Worth in Texas.
Circa cinque anni fa la Madison fece uscire spezzoni di questo show, sfortunatamente incompleti e in qualità audio molto inferiore. Tuttavia il CD di quest’anno sarà tratto da una registrazione in qualità soundboard di prima generazione e con audio eccellente.
Alcuni brani della fonte originale presentano dei difetti, per esempio durante ‘C.C. Rider’ si rilevano alcune interferenze, un graffio sul lato A del vinile originale ha danneggiato l’ascolto di ‘Jailhouse Rock’ e la registrazione di Hound Dog risulta interrotta. Queste tracce sono state sostituite dalle versioni cantate sempre a Forth Worth, ma un mese dopo. Tuttavia le performance danneggiate o incomplete di giugno sono incluse come bonus per i collezionisti più accaniti. Tutto questo sarò corredato da un libretto informativo di 16 pagine.
Ma non è tutto: per la prima volta, questa ‘edizione del 30° anniversario’ conterrà la musica precedente allo show eseguita da Joe Guercio e gli Hot Hilton Horns, J.D. Sumner e gli Stamps e le Sweet Inspiration, presentata nell’ordine cronologico originale. Alcuni dei pezzi più rilevanti di questo primo CD sono " When The Saints Go Marching In " e "You'll Never Walk Alone" eseguiti dagli Stamps, gli strepitosi vocalizzi delle Sweet Inspiration in “Philadelphia Freedom”, “Lady Marmalade” e un medley di successi di successi di Stevie Wonder. Il monologo del comico Jackie Kahane non fu registrato in quell’occasione e di conseguenza non appare sul CD.
Il secondo CD conterrà il concerto di Elvis come già disponibile sul vecchio bootleg ‘Cajun Tornado’ sempre emesso dalla Madison, ma con diversi brani inediti, in qualità audio ampiamente superiore e nell’ordine originale senza alcuna interruzione.
